Keep Your Winter Workouts Going Strong
When it's cold outside, it can be very easy to talk yourself out of going to the gym or turning on that home workout video. After all, who needs to exercise when you can just hide under a bulky sweater? Here are some tips to keep you going when the weather outside is frightful:
If you exercise in the morning, lay out your gear or pack your bag the night before. Fumbling around in the cold early in the morning will zap your motivation.
Put your workout clothes is the dryer for a few minutes. A toasty warm-up suit will help ease the transition from your cozy bed.
Mix up your routine. Doing the same old, tired workout won't keep you interested. Try a new class at the gym or a new workout video.
Invest in some good workout clothes. Start with a base layer that wicks away moisture. The dryer you are, the warmer you'll be. And don't forget about a good hat, gloves, and socks.
Above all else, get moving! You'll improve your health, feel better, and get a jump on swimsuit season.
